Old age allowance

Elderly allowance at the rate of Rs.

Poor men aged 65 years and above / Poor women aged 62 years and above; However, preference is given to physically handicapped and disabled elderly men and women and divorced / divorced, widowed, childless elderly men and women separated from the family.

Arrangements for distribution of regular allowances including selection of new beneficiaries within maximum 3 months subject to receipt of allotment.

The arrears received by the nominee of the beneficiary before the death of the beneficiary and the allowance up to three months after death can be withdrawn.

Widow and Husband Abuse Distressed Woman Allowance

Provision of monthly allowance of Rs.500 / - per person to selected widows and husbands

Poor widows and husbands aged 18 and above; However, priority is given to elderly widows who are physically disabled and incapacitated / divorced / husband abused, childless and separated from the family.

Arrangements for distribution of regular allowances including selection of new beneficiaries within maximum 3 months subject to receipt of allotment.

Indigent Disability Allowance

Provision of Indigent Disability Allowance at the rate of Rs.

All persons with disabilities above 6 years of age, who do not receive old age allowance or any other allowance from the government, who are not employed or pensioners, and persons with disabilities whose annual per capita family income is below Rs. 24,000.

Freedom fighter honorarium

To provide honorarium at the rate of Rs.

Freedom fighters are those who are included in the list of freedom fighters obtained from Lal Muktibarta, Indian, Armed Forces and Bangladesh Rifles or gazettes published by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and freedom fighters certified by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

To take measures for distribution of allowances including selection of new beneficiaries within maximum 6 months subject to receipt of allotment.

Admission and implementation of after care program.

To take action for correction and self-purification in the family / social environment under the supervision of the Probation Officer by suspending the punishment of persons convicted of first and minor offenses as directed by the Hon'ble Court.

Provide education and vocational training to inmates. Development and correction of child mentality through counseling under the supervision of Probation Officer / Social Case Worker at Juvenile Development Center without keeping the convicted children in jail.

Probationers / persons convicted by the concerned court, Asha children / adolescents in connection with the law and have been sentenced to death, life imprisonment and treason, imprisonment for any term of more than one year except women convicted under the relevant law.

Within 20 working days after receiving the approval of the Criminal Correction and Rehabilitation Committee / Upazila / City Social Service Activities Project Implementation Committee regarding the time limit / order given by the wise court and rehabilitation.

Registration and regulation of voluntary social welfare organizations.

Issuance of exemption letter for naming of voluntary social welfare organizations, registration of organizations / institutions / organizations / private orphanages / clubs interested in the service oriented activities described in section 2 (f) of the Voluntary Social Welfare Organizations (Registration and Regulation) Ordinance, 1981.

Organizations, institutions, clubs, organizations, associations interested in voluntary social welfare activities.

Registration - 20 working days after receipt of application along with required paperwork.

Provision of Capitation Grant in Private Orphanage.

Raising orphaned children up to the age of 18 years, providing them with formal education and vocational training.

In private orphanages, 50 per cent of the poor children are orphans aged 8-9 years, i.e. fatherless or fatherless.

6 months after receiving the application for capitation grant from a private orphanage.

Assistance in providing grants to organizations registered through the Social Welfare Council

National level organizations announced by the Department of Social Services grant up to Rs.

Grants for general and income generating programs for registered voluntary organizations.

Grants are provided by the Social Welfare Council to the following organizations:

National Level Voluntary Organization, Coordinating Council,

Registered general voluntary organizations, various religious organizations and the poor / disadvantaged.

The Social Welfare Council has to apply in August every year as per the notification in the national daily newspaper. By December, the District Social Welfare Council will select the application and send the recommendation to the National Social Welfare Council and the final decision will be taken by the National Social Welfare Council.

Hospital social service activities

Provide assistance and guidance in hospitalization and treatment. Provide various medical supplies including medicine, blood, diet, clothes, spectacles, crutches, prostheses to poor and helpless patients. To provide nutritious food to the needy and helpless patients. Rehabilitate unaccompanied and abandoned children.

Helpless and poor patients with problems

Providing necessary medical services on the recommendation of the concerned doctor immediately after identifying the helpless and poor patient or applying the patient.
