Allowance for backward people

    Backward class is a small part of the population of Bangladesh. According to a survey conducted by the Department of Social Services, there are about 13,29,135 backward communities in Bangladesh. The so-called lower caste communities like Jale, Sanyasi, Rishi, Behara, Napit, Dhopa, Hazam, Nikari, Patni, Kawra, Teli, Patikar, Banshfor, Domar, Raut, Telugu, Hela, Hari, Lalbegi, Balmigi, Dom etc. In the financial year 2012-2013, through the pilot program, the program to improve the living standards of the Vedic and backward communities was started in 6 districts. However, it has started in Chandpur district in the financial year 2015-16. It is being implemented as a separate program from 2019-20 financial year. Aims and Objectives: To provide special allowance of Rs. 500 per person per month to the disabled and indigent persons aged 50 years and above. Bringing the working Vedas and backward people into the mainstream of society by increasing their skills and involving them in income generating activities through vocational training; Post-Training Rehabilitation Assistance Rs. 10,000 / - (Ten Thousand). Place of Receipt of Service / Office Name: All Upazila / City Social Service Offices in charge of Chandpur District Officer / Employee: Manpower Service Delivery Method of Upazila / City Social Service Officer and concerned office (in short): Subject to receipt of allotment, Upazila / City Social Service Officer issues notification. Interested persons are then required to apply along with the social service officer in the prescribed form. The received application is sent to the Upazila Committee in the form of proposal after verification and selection on the spot by the Union Committee. Hence After that the upazila committee selects the beneficiaries according to the allocation. The distribution of allowances is done by opening a bank account in the name of the selected person and transferring the allowance or stipend money from the central account without informing the selected person. Trade based training is provided to persons above 18 years of age. Post-training non-refundable financial assistance is provided to the trainees. Required time to receive services: 1. Within 03 months of application subject to receipt of new allotment; 2. 08 working days for old or regular fee / fee / incidental expenses: Free related laws / rules / policies: Dalit, Harijan and Vedic community living standard development program policy 2013 special allowance: 500 / - monthly training; Vocational trades such as sewing, computer, beautification Financial assistance to trainees 10, Rs. Chairman Upazila Parishad (concerned Upazila) 2. Deputy Commissioner (concerned district) or in case of City Corporation / Municipality Chief Executive Officer / Regional Executive Officer (concerned administration) 3. Program Director
